ARiC Insulation manufactures Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) sheets from our facility in Maharashtra, India since 1969. Our FRP insulation sheets conform to IEC 60893, offering a dielectric strength of 5 kV/mm combined with high mechanical strength, moisture resistance, and dimensional stability — supplied to transformer manufacturers, panel builders, and switchgear OEMs across India. Available in thicknesses from 2mm to 50mm with cut-to-size and CNC machining services.
FRP (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) sheets — also referred to as fibreglass sheets or glass fibre reinforced plastic laminates — are flat insulation panels manufactured by combining layers of glass fibre reinforcement with a thermosetting resin (typically polyester) under heat and pressure. The result is a composite material that combines excellent electrical insulation with high mechanical strength, low moisture absorption, and resistance to heat and chemicals.
In electrical insulation applications, FRP sheets conform to IEC 60893, which classifies glass reinforced thermosetting plastic laminates by resin type and reinforcement. The most common grade for general electrical insulation is GP03 (glass mat, polyester resin), offering a practical balance of dielectric performance and cost. FRP sheets are widely used wherever a flat insulating structural component is required — from transformer barriers and busbar phase separators to panel mounting plates and switchgear insulation.
Compared to Bakelite (phenolic laminate), FRP sheets offer higher dielectric strength and better moisture resistance. Compared to epoxy glass sheets (G10/G11), FRP sheets offer a cost advantage for general-purpose applications where the extreme dielectric strength of epoxy is not required.

FRP sheets are used wherever a flat insulating structural component is required in electrical equipment. Common applications include transformer insulation barriers, busbar phase separators and arc shields, panel mounting plates, and structural insulation components inside switchgear and distribution boards.
Our FRP sheets conform to IEC 60893, which covers thermosetting plastic flat laminates for electrical purposes. The standard grade we supply is GP03 — glass mat reinforcement with polyester resin — which is the most widely used grade for general electrical insulation applications.
We supply FRP sheets from 2mm up to 50mm thickness. Standard sheet size is 1220 × 2440mm. Cut-to-size service is available — sheets can be cut to any dimensions you require.
FRP sheets (GP03) use glass mat reinforcement with polyester resin, offering a dielectric strength of around 5 kV/mm at a lower cost. Epoxy sheets (G10/G11) use woven glass fabric with epoxy resin, offering higher dielectric strength (typically 10+ kV/mm), better dimensional stability, and higher operating temperatures. Epoxy sheets are preferred for demanding or high-voltage applications; FRP sheets are suitable for general electrical insulation where cost is a factor.
Yes. We offer a cut-to-size service for FRP sheets. Provide your required dimensions and we will cut from standard stock. We can also CNC machine FRP sheets into finished components — drilled mounting plates, slotted barriers, and custom-profile parts to your drawing.
Yes. FRP sheets are a standard material for transformer insulation barriers and structural support boards. We supply FRP sheets alongside our broader transformer insulation components range — including pressboard, densified wood, coil supports, and complete transformer insulation kits.
